Unnamed, but often reliable, sources are reporting that talks have been ongoing between the two belligerent blogs to determine the rules of engagement for an as yet unannounced physical altercation .  The planned brawl was initiated when Red State potentate Erick Erickson had  an actual iron gauntlet delivered to Dkos world headquarters and an unnamed staffer inadvertantly picked it up to get some popcorn out of the microwave with.

Since the issuance of the challenge talks have begun between the two sites warlords, Red State's mysterious 'streiff' and Meteor Blades, the highly decorated DKos field commander.

It was early decided that a single combat between Kos and Erickson would not really settle anything.

" What's two guys fighting gonna prove' streiff might have said 'we wanna show once and for all that, man for man, Red Staters are just a better grade of humans than those pootie worshipers over at the Daily Kos. What we Staters demand is a good old fashioned street fight."

According to sources close to Meteor Blades, he may have said that while the 'general melee' format is acceptable to the Kossack community the street is no place for it to take place.

"We would like to keep this quiet and private with no police involvement. We're trying to get the old Astodome in Houston for a venue' Mr. Blades probably said, 'I mean it's  abandoned so it's perfect for something like this.  I think the Red State bums should agree to the Dome 'cause they not gonna wanna have everybody see what we do to them."

The negotiations are now centering on rules of engagement - specifically on allowable weapons, with both side agreeing to bats, shivs, chains and knucks and Red Staters holding out for zip guns.

"No way I'm going for guns' Blades doubtlessly said, ' I mean DKos has RTKBA group - the staters are a RTKBA group.
